Dr. Ankur Phatarpekar is a consultant interventional cardiologist, with nearly a decade’s experience in interventional cardiology.
He is a visiting consultant in renowned institutions like Wockhardt Heart Institute, Hinduja healthcare, Breach Candy, Fortis Raheja, Masina, Somaiya Superspeciality and Bhatia hospital.
Dr. Phatarpekar has presented papers at the European Society of Cardiology London in 2015, Society for Cardiovascular Angiography and Interventions (SCAI) Florida in 2016, and many national conferences – Cardiological Society of India, India Live, Transcatheter Cardiovascular Therapeutics TCT and STEMI India, amongst others.
The doctor has more than 30 national and international publications in indexed journals like Aorta, Indian Heart Journal and European Heart Journal, to name a few.
Dr. Phatarpekar has had a meritorious career topping many state and national-level exams. He was a teaching faculty in one of the topmost medical schools of India – Seth G S Medical College and KEM Hospital teaching interventional cardiology to young cardiologists.
He specialises in complex angioplasties like Rotaablation, bifurcation stenting. He is deft at structural heart procedures like Atrial septal defect device closures and balloon mitral valvotomies. He is part of the team doing the maximum number of transcatheter aortic valve implantations (TAVI) procedures.
